Uninstalling PriceDip and restoring original prices

Before you uninstall PriceDip, set every task to Inactive and wait for the prices to revert. Uninstalling does not restore your original prices: the app changes the product’s own price and compare-at price, and they stay as they are until a task reverts them. If you remove the app with a task still active, the changed prices stay on your products.

The app shows this warning itself:

Do not uninstall the app when there are active tasks. It is required to set all the tasks to inactive before you remove the app.

In-app warning banner: Do not uninstall the app when there are active tasks. It is required to set all the tasks to inactive before you remove the app.

A task reverts prices when it ends or when you set it to Inactive. Uninstalling the app does not revert prices. Deleting a task does not either: deleting an Active task leaves its prices in place, and the change becomes permanent. So set every task to Inactive yourself first.

  1. Open your task list: on the app dashboard, go to Task overview and open the Active tab.
  2. Set every active task to Inactive, both Flash Sale tasks and Price Edit tasks. Open each task, change its Status to Inactive and save.
  3. Wait for the prices to revert. Allow about 5 minutes for every 3,000 product variants, so larger tasks need longer.
  4. Spot-check prices in Shopify admin. Open several products from each task and confirm the price and compare-at price.
  5. Check the storefront. Open the same products and confirm they show their normal prices.
  6. Uninstall the app from Shopify admin, under Settings > Apps.
  1. Note which products are still at their changed prices. A product still showing a strikethrough price it should not have is one of them.
  2. Contact support@pricedip.app, and explain what happened.
  3. If you know the original prices, you can restore them by hand, as below. After a Flash Sale task with the discount on Price, the product’s compare-at price is the price from before the sale.

If you know the original prices, you can put them back yourself in Shopify admin. Go to Products, tick the affected products and click Bulk edit. Click Columns to add Compare-at price if it is not shown. Type the original price into Price, and clear Compare-at price unless the product had one before the sale.

Our advice: before any large sale, export your products to a CSV file from the Products page, as a record of what your prices were. Use it to look prices up. Importing an old file back over your products rewrites every column in it, not only the prices.
